Carm has a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Saskatchewan (‘84) and a Masters of Business Administration (‘95) from the University of Regina which she completed over several years while working.
Carm loves her career! Over 30 years of a marketing management experience in the hospitality, tourism municipal government and financial sector.
As the Marketing and Strategic Services Manager at Affinity Credit Union, she has successfully rebranded and helped reposition the organization.
Her support for SYPE began 5 years ago. She was recognized in 2010 with the SYPE ACE of Spades Award.
In 2006 Carm found a passion for literacy, an issue she continues to see as a daily struggle for her parents. She is currently a Chair of READ Saskatoon and founding chair of the
successful Celebrity Auction and Golf for Literacy Event where she established the partnership with SYPE. For her work in literacy, Affinity Credit Union received the Lieutenant Governors’ Saskatchewan Literacy Award of Merit , Corporation in 2009.Her volunteer life also included the Transportation Director for the most-successful World Juniors Hockey Championship 2010, Saskatoon. She was past chair of the YWCA Women of Distinction Awards Dinner®;, and founding chair of the International Women’s Day event for the Saskatoon Business and Professional Women’s Club; past president of the International Association of Business Communicators Saskatoon.
Supporting young talent in our community is another passion of hers. She is past Board Chair for AIESEC Saskatoon, a student run international management development organization at the U of S. And past board member Saskatchewan Rotary Youth Foundation and the My Future is Here Program.
For fitness and fun Carm takes a variety of fitness and dance classes (yoga, zumba, salsa dance, ballroom,) loves new activities and is trying to improve her bocci game!
Carm has two children, Kayla, currently at the Edwards School of Business and Tanner ,Grade 11 , whom she supports in their pursuits. Carm believes in always learning, exploring life…and having FUN!
