SYPE Regina May 16th Lunch: "Business 101"
Are you a newer business, and you have questions about some of the fundamentals of new business ownership? Are you trying to escalate your business from a part time gig to full time commitment? Come chat and discuss with people who are used to helping people in this position. Join SYPE on May 16th to hear from three outstanding professionals, Bruce Anderson, Riley Nadoroznick and Trevor Green (see bio's below), who will form a business panel to answer questions relating to new business ownership.
Bruce Anderson
Bruce teaches business strategy, policy, and entrepreneurship at the undergraduate and graduate levels at the U of R. He also manages the Centre for Management Development, which provides consulting and training services to business and government sectors. Bruce continues to serve as Managing Partner and Senior Consultant for b-creative group. He is currently a Board Director and Finance Committee Chair with the Sask. Chamber of Commerce, Past President of the Regina and District Chamber of Commerce, Vice-President with the Sask. Science Centre, and advisor to several businesses and organizations. Bruce is also a Founding Committee member and mentor with Progress2Capital business planning competition and a mentor with the Canada Youth Business Foundation. Bruce has B.Comm. and MBA degrees and holds the Certified Management Consultant (CMC) and Certified Association Executive (CAE) designations.
Riley Nadoroznick
Riley is a Manager, Venture Runways, at Springboard West. Riley provides in-depth research and analysis on potential markets for new innovations, as well as competitive intelligence for all types of companies. He uses his experience in business planning, financial modeling, intellectual property assessment, patent filing, competitive analysis, and other areas to help develop an innovative idea into a viable business opportunity. He has worked on many different projects from a vast array of industries, including: information technology, biotechnology, software development, construction products, military vehicles, and others. Riley earned his degree in Economics and Society from the University of Regina. Riley's goal is to provide entrepreneurs with all of the information and knowledge they require to make proper, informed decisions regarding their businesses. Trevor Green
Trevor in an associate at Olive Waller Zinkham & Waller LLP. Trevor currently maintains a general practice with a particular emphasis on business law and corporate and commercial transactions. Trevor advises small and large corporate clients on various corporate and commercial matters including corporate structuring and governance, legal due diligence, agreements for purchase, the sale of businesses, shareholder agreements, regulatory compliance and commercial negotiation. Trevor has experience working with private and publicly-traded companies as well as government entities. The other primary area of Trevor's practice is in the area of employment law. Trevor advises employers and employees in relation to dismissal cases and workplace conflict, employment contracts and issues related to confidentiality, conflicts of interest and workplace privacy.
