- About Me
I lead a team of Directors who provide leadership support and strategic direction to our seven owned hotels in divisions of Human Resources, Information Technology, Revenue Management and Sales and Marketing. Further, I sit on the senior executive of the company and share responsibility with our other company VP on all acquisition and development activity. I am passionate about the organization, the team I work with and the hospitality industry in general. My greatest strengths are fluidly moving between strategic development and detail oriented management as well as keen analytical skills connected unrelated concepts to uncover opportunity and mitigate risk. I strongly believe in the United Way and giving back to the communities we do business in and am proud to live in Saskatoon.
- Work History
I have worked in the hospitality industry my whole life. I have worked for 8 different hotels and 6 different international brand companies. I came up through the Rooms Division of the hotel industry working all positions of the front desk, reservations and housekeeping departments. I also worked in specialty areas of IT infrastructure and service, administration, accounting and food and beverage - managing multiple outlets and serving as duty manager and assistant general manager. My final position in hotel operations was General Manager where I managed the transition and renovations of the Quality Hotel Saskatoon to the Hilton Garden Inn brand. I worked in management for 11 of the16 years I spent in hotel operations and then worked with two other colleagues on the development of our companies head office entity. After building the head office, I have resided in senior leadership positions in the 6 years since (Corporate Director of two separate divisions, VP of Operations, VP of Corporate Services). I have brokered two third party management agreements and managed 5 hotel acquisitions. The future is about using my ability to flow between strategic architecture and significant detail-oriented work to provide vision and build infrastructure that will push teams to create tremendous, unprecedented success for owners.
