YORKTON REGION
The City of Yorkton & the entire East Central Region has seen tremendous Growth in all sectors over the past 5 years. Yorkton has embraced a new attitude where we want to be the place to LIVE, WORK and INVEST. With this instilled in everyone’s mind, we all wanted to see Yorkton be a major contributor to Saskatchewan’s Booming Economy. This has been proven by existing Industrial/Manufactory companies expanding, Two New International Canola Crushing Facilities, K1 Potash Expansion, Increase in Residential/ Commercial Construction and growth in the Small Business sector. The Parkland College is also taking some great initiatives and they offer the largest off-campus University Program at a regional college in all of Saskatchewan.
For these reasons the young professional and entrepreneurs that were once drawn away from Yorkton for better opportunities, now see Yorkton as being a city of opportunity, growth, offering a balance quality of life and a sense of belonging. These individuals now play a crucial role in the continued growth of the city. SYPE has been introduced to Yorkton at the perfect time, for it will bring these individuals closer together where they can reconnect, stay connected to build a stronger network of like minded people.
The Yorkton and District SYPE Chapter looks forward to the growth of its membership and the involvement within the community. We have established a great relationship with the Yorkton Chamber of Commerce, Enterprise Saskatchewan and the City of Yorkton. We established chapter status in October 1, 2010 and will continue to look to partner with other organizations within the city to further promote business growth and opportunities for our members.
